Mariner 15 identification no serial #

Hey y’all, I have inherited my fathers aluminum boat n motor. The motor is a mariner 15 block ID is 881-9727-C1. That’s it, no other numbers on motor, no numbers or plates on bracket. I need to repair it and get it running it without the year/motor info is impossible. Any help is much appreciated.

That # doesn't mean much. Look for a silver disc with the serial # on it. It should be on the block somewhere or put a pic up.
