mariner 15hp blowing steam

hi all my 1987 mariner 15 blows steam from the pee hole like a kettle boiling.
impellor was new 6 months ago should i fit a new one.

Chances are the impeller has failed or something plugged the cooling system, probably the imp.

Be carefull here . These engines will do excactly that.You will see little or no water flow from the tell tale until the t stat opens then you will see a nice flow then little,then nice,etc. Get the picture?This throws alot of people off but it is the nature of the beast.Bottom line is are you getting hot?
