Hi

I have a 1986 Mariner 200 and am having problems with it idling when the leg is fully down in deep water. The revs drop and it stalls. The strange thing is that if you raise the leg on the trim so it is about 25 degrees up the revs pick up enough to idle smoothly.

Can anyone suggest what might be causing this?

Thanks

You may have some trash in your low speed jets in the carbs. Or pin holes in the fuel pump diaphram. It runs better when you raise it because there is less back pressure.

Thanks very much for the pointers. I'll have a look into the areas you highlighted :)

Thanks
