mariner 25 swivel bushings.

I've got an early 80s yamaha built mariner 25. I need to replace the swivel bushings and some are not available. Would an 84 yamaha 25 use the same bushings? The parts diagram looks exactly the same and the yamaha parts are available and cheaper.

What's the model number of your engine, and which website are you using to look at the Yamaha parts?

EDIT: OK, just found a site to view Yamaha parts on, and yes, they like very similar, and given that the early small Mariners were actually re-badged Yamahas I'll say the likelihood of it being the same part is very high.... But I do need your engine model number (not serial number, model number) to verify the year/series of your engine...

Chris, Im not exactly sure of the model number. I posted some pictures of the motor in another thread and the best ive come up with is somewhere around a 1980 model. The data plate is gone.

Looks like you got the answer on the year model. I guess the only question remaining is are the 1984 Yamaha parts the same. I can get you a reasonable answer to that, but not until I'm home on Friday... If you can wait, I can do some serial/model number look ups in books I have...

I rolled the dice and ordered the yamaha parts. The swivel bushings used on the 84 model are the same all the way up through 1997. I will post results when they arrive. Im almost positive they will be the same.
