I just bought a 25 Mariner, literally yesterday. The serial # is 0A978713. I have tried to locate the year, but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated. I am also looking for a good site that sells parts. I know I will need a carb kit, impeller, and maybe some electrical. Knowing the year will help me locate parts, but any links would also be appreciated. One last thing, it uses 50 to one mix, right? Thanks!

Re: Mariner 25

Thanks for the help with the parts site. Now I have another question. I bought this motor for $150 and the previous owner said that it was not firing. I tested the spark and it was sparking on the bottom cylinder only. I moved the + over to the top coil and the top started firing. Meaning that the coil is not bad, it is not getting the signal from the power pack, or switch box to fire. After checking grounds and other connectors, the top cylinder started sparking and the bottom lost spark. A few minutes later the bottom started spaking again and I lost spark on the top. What is going on? It sounds like the power pack is going out to me. I wanted to ask the experts before I drop $110 on a new one. If I only needed one cylinder at a time, I would be in good shape. If it sounds like the powerpack, is there a way to check before I drop the money on a new one. Any help would be much appreciated. I am hoping to work on it over the weekend. Thanks!

Re: Mariner 25

I am looking at that trouble shooting guide and it does not list my specific motor. I have taken off and cleaned all grounds and other connections. It either has no spark or it is just occasional spark on one or the other cylinders. Seems like it must be the trigger or switch box. Can anyone tell me which it is most likely? Any links to trouble shooting the electrial on my motor would help also. My motor is a mariner, but all of the wiring diagrams match up with Mercury. The wiring diagrams for Mariner don't have the right colors for wires or parts. Thanks!

Re: Mariner 25

Disregard my last post. It took me a little while to find where it has the info for my motor. It shows how to check it. Looks like a bad power pack. Thanks for the help.
