Gang I'm a little confused here.
My starting/accessory battery is not charging while the engine is running. It is a 1993 25hp Mariner Electric start. I want to do the rectifier test in the FAQ sticky's. I'm assuming the battery has to be connected to the motor to do the test?????? Should the ignition be in the on or off position????? I've been to a bunch of different on-line parts sites and they all say the same thing N/A (as in there is not a rectifier on the motor) under the replacement rectifier part nuimber. I was looking at the motor last night...there is certainly a rectifier there. It had 2 gray wires hooked to 1 terminal, a yellow wire to another and a red wire to the 3rd terminal. What's up with the missing/ NA part number??????
