Mariner 30 lower unit.

Hi<br />I need a used lower unit for a 1988 Mariner 30hp. Can anyone tell me if the lower unit from any other models, or years, would fit? As this engine is the Japanese Yamaha type, would a Yamaha lower unit fit?<br /><br />Thanks in advance.<br />Steve

That would be a Yamaha and one from an appropriate Yamaha would fit. I believe the gearcases from 28-40Hp are the same, but I don't know for sure. You might try running a parallel post in the Yamaha category. Someone with more Yamaha experience might be of more help. Many members peruse the categories they're most familiar with.
