I have been a little rough in valve #5, the floor valve. I would like to replace it with either an identical valve, or a better (?Boston?) valve- has anyone replaced this valve?

All I see online are kite valves?

You may be out of luck on that one bro.... I personally haven't seen anything like that being replaced

I'll get it replaced when the time comes- I was just wondering if anyone had done it yet. The PVC these are made with takes a weld really well.

Seat valves seem identical. if you are not using all three seats, you could take out the valves from one of them replace it when time comes.

haha...

i've seen couple videos on YT in fixing rubber boats, seem quite simple. what ever valves you decide on, it may be bit tricky but i am sure its not going to be too hard to cut out that section and replace it.

Brian check out this link and the "repair "topic RiverGear.com - Man of Rubber River Gear

Also here.. InflatableBoatParts.com - Inflatable Boat parts, repair kits and accessories for Zodiac, Achilles, Caribe, AB, Avon and Walker Bay Inflatables. - Inflatable Boat Parts
I am wondering if you painted the inside of the valve with the HH66 you mentioned ..it would seal the hole, from the inside

One of the above links also mentioned a product called Bixler "toobseal"...kind of like green slime they use for tires...don't know a thing about it.might be worth a look

One other thought. If you could keep the valve open , (back end of spoon, straw, or eraser side of pencil),perhaps squirt a ring of silicone on top of the valve ,maybe cover the entire internal flap on the side that seals upward from the air pressue, as I said, keep it open while the"lip" of silicone seals, 12 hrs etc...then release the valve so that when air pressure from inflation forces it upward it will seal on the new "silicone edge" Silicone is a 6 dollar fix. Might work.

Or.Seal the inside edge of the valve where it meats the cap cover with silicone...maybe 1/8 inch all around. Leave the cap open during the drying and curing of the silicone. This makes the inside diameter of the valve opening less in diameter. you then would have to force the cap cover into a smaller diameter hole , a much tighter fit, but less chance of air leaking from the valve. The valve would then still squeeze open for deflation and the cap would not be permanently adhered to the inside of the valve....I/E normal inflation and deflation
for 6 dollars for a tube of silicone, you might have to repeat this application a couple of times in the life of your Mariner...but it might be a solution.
