I need help regarding the age of this motor <br />Mariner 55 EL serial number 663L318346 as well as much technical info as possible eg. max useable rpm.general info etc.

Hi Jurgen,<br /><br />Welcome to iBoats.<br /><br />The engine you have there was built by Yamaha for Mariner and the year is about 1987. <br /><br />The max revs are : 4500-5500. <br />Spark plugs are NGK B8HS-10, gapped to 1mm (0.039"). <br />Idle speed is 800rpm (in forward gear).<br /><br />The timing and sync are : <br />Idle - 5 degrees ATDC<br />Pickup - 4 degrees BTDC<br />Max timing - 26 degrees<br /><br />Gearcase capacity is 500ml (16.7 fl. oz.)<br /><br />Good luck.<br /><br />Chris...........

Hi Jurgen<br />I have a mariner 55el 663l320301 year 1989 yamaha built i to have had problems trying to get information regarding the timing degrees please could you let me know how your engine runs after you have adjusted it . <br /><br />citrixfish<br />Phil
