Evening all,
What are your thoughts on fitting 90HP carbies to a 75hp Mariner. Motor is in great condition (100 hours-genuine) but is on the back of a 5.5 meter plate alloy centre console to which I have recently added an extra 500lb in the form of more fuel capacity and alloy fabrication. Prior to the modification top speed at 5250 rpm was 31 knots (as per GPS) spinning a Merc 3 blade alloy prop (17 inch pitch). I live in Brisbane, Australia & need to punch out through some nasty bars at times so I might be needing the extra grunt. It is much cheaper to re-carb than re-engine but are there hidden extras such as the need for new reeds, etc? My Mariner dealer says no problems but my wife also told me she loved me!All input greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Peter
