Mariner 75 vs Merc ELPTO

I'm looking to replace a 75hp mariner with a Mercury 90 ELPT for my pontoon boat. Will I be able to use the same controls and steering cables or will they have to be replaced? Any other words of caution? thanks for the help.

Years of each motor will help us answer this. Typically, Merc and Mariner should interchange.
