Mariner Magnum 40HP can't figure out serial number

I picked up a used Mariner Magnum 40 HP. I want to order carb kits and water impeller but when I check the serial number it comes up as not found. I've been through charts as well. Can someone help me verify this motor please. Serial number shows 06237073.
If you do find it can you pass along the year and any other information.

ignore the 0 you would use the 6237073 which would indicate a 1983 model it looks like you have a mercury built mariner which merc built a 2cylinder and a 4 cylinder ,mariner was also built by Yamaha but usually the serial number is a different arrangement of numbers and letters ....18-3007 impeller and 18-7021 carb kit,hopefully this helps ......

Hi there, could you try posting a close-up photo of the serial number? I'm thinking the first number (6) is a G and not a 6.

Using the 6 shows the engine to be a mercruiser 120 HP stern drive. Putting a G in front shows the engine to be a 1995 40 HP ELPTO Model number 7040412DD Parts catalog part number 90-814698.

Fun Times your right on the money! After closer review it's 0G237073. Thank you both for your replIes.
I was told it is a 1994 Mariner 40 hp w stroke with oil injection when i bought it this week. It has 4 cylinders, 2-stroke And seems very clean. I will be replacing water pump, oil, doing a carb kit and other basics to keep it from giving me fits.
Is there any other information I may benefit from knowing. I'm not much of an outboard guy. ... yet! It's running super rich but I haven't troublshot that yet. The plugs tend to be very wet When I pull them. It's so rich it barely idles. I will troubleshoot and see what I find. I only bring it up in case one of you know a common issue with this motor.
