Hi,
I've recently bought a mariner magnum 40hp. It is an after 1995 production engine. I havent test it yet and only saw it once in my friends garden (it looks like it is in top condition).

I've made some search about this motor but could not find any info on that. What do you think about this engine? cons? pros? fuel consumption?

Please tell me what you know.
take care

ps: all I know is it is a 4 cylinder model with double carbs..

Its a good solid, and smooth running engine.
No major problems that I am aware of.

MY friend said it has more of less the similar fuel consumption like a 2 stroke 25hp, what do you think about it? is it fuel efficient?

Re: Mariner magnum 40hp

I wouldn't bet on that.
It may be more efficient than motors from the sixties or seventies.
The only "efficient" motors out there are going to be the fourstrokes, and the optimax direct injection type motors.

It should purr like a kitten though.
