Mariner outboard electric start small hp??

I am looking for information on a 8 to 10 hp Mariner. I have a bass boat with a 1985 40 hp Mariner. I am fishing on a lake that is a 10 hp or less. I would like to find someone with a electric start 8 to 10 hp Mariner that I can find out how close these compair to a 40 hp. I would like to find a engine to bolt on my boat, using my cables and controls. That way I can change back to the 40 if I need to. My engine has the controls that hook up on the outside of the engine. Maybe all of the Mariners do. I am not sure.
