mariner serial number

I just purchased a pontoon boat with a mariner 45 hp,2 stroke,4cyl,w trim, outboard motor. the serial number is 0C103582. according to all the different sites i've been to (mercury-mariner-yamaha-some foreign sites) this is not a good number, yet it is on the motor. can anyone tell me if this is a good number and what year is the motor?

It is a Mariner 45,2 stroke,4 cyl,w trim.

I'm not sure how that got in the trolling motor section. I checked the MERCURY EXPRESS site and recieved a model# 1035312GD but still no year. The Swedish site was no help. Still looking...

By process of elimination, I believe it's a 1989 Model...
