Mariner Serial Number?

I just bought a 90 hp Mariner in great shape, the only thing is nobody can give me an exact year on it. I know from the cowling hood it's somewhere in the early 90's I believe. The number is 0A749754. I cant really find any specific sight that gives that number and the guy I bought it from said his book told him it was an 86 but we both agreed that it cant be. If anyone could help me out that would be great, thanks.

Engine serial number 0A749754 is a 1989 MARINER 90 ELPTO, Model number 70904129C.
The engine manufacture date just had a birthday on 03/15/1989 (3 CYLINDER)

You could just google the model number for a parts catalog list of your engine.

Thanks for the quick response. Looking at different pictures of 1989 Mariner's there are different types of hood's and decals I keep finding. Is there any way in telling which decal is right for that year?

You could try googling the part numbers for a photo/pitcher, Like ebay, etc, sometimes you can get lucky and see what your looking for.
