Hi,i have an 1983 model inline 6 115 mariner and wondering what the recomended plugs are.At the moment i have gapless ngk plugs in there and its running abit rich. The po used the boat for skiing,so not much idling.I do alot of fishing and idling so its abit rich at idle.Is there a gap plug that would work on this motor.

As far as I know, a conventional spark plug was never recommended for that motor. You might be able to lean the idle mixture 1/8 turn to make it idle a bit better. If the acceleration suffers, you will need to richen it up.

Thanks. The motor idles perfect. It just covers the transom water line with a black oily line after idling for awhile. The spark plugs in it now are ngk buhw.Has anyone used ngk buhw_2 plugs.I think they are a hotter plug.

Just a question about my electric choke. It has a adjustable metal nob and a spring on top.How many turns is this suppose to be out.At the moment its wound pretty much all the way out.Could that make it run abit rich?
