Mariner stator testing

1984 90hp mariner SN6399108<br />How do you test the stator without a peak volt meter?<br />Can you use a scope to look at the peak voltages?<br />Thanks

Can you mix switch boxes from different manufactures Sierra or Mercury?<br />Do the switch boxes need to be replaced in pairs to mantain the the bias resistance?

walleyechaser, yes, a scope will read the peak voltages, that's what they do best.
