I just got a new to me boat with a 1992 mariner 115hp outboard. A magnet came off the flywheel and damaged the stator. I happened to pick up a used flywheel and stator but the stator I took off the motor was a cdi with 6 wires. The new stator is a red oem unit with only 4 wires and I can't for the life of me figure out where they go. There is 2 yellows and a green white and a white green. I think I have the yellows figured out but the other 2 haven't a clue. I've tried looking on the Web for diagrams but can't find one for this engine.

You have a stator that runs on "CDM's" (newer) type coils of 115HP's introduced in 97. The one you got, won't work

You need stator for 96 and older 115HP with 6 wires of which, 4 wires go to the "switch box".

Interesting and disappointing at the same time. I bought the parts of a guy who owns a marine mechanics shop, double checked with him it was the correct part. But anyways I got the flywheel and stator for $200 can so I can order the correct stator and still be ahead because the local marinas quoted me $951.00 for a new flywheel alone

If the flywheel is a off a CDM engine it will not work as hub magnet is different...
