mariner tank pickup tube

Trying to find the tank pickup tube for inside the portable fuel tank. Went to dealer and he kept trying to sell me new tank. Nothing wrong with the tank or external fuel lines. But the internal pickup tube rotted off.
I looked around Iboats but only external fuel parts can be found.

If the tube is rotted then maybe the rest of the tank will soon follow? Maybe that's why they only sell the entire thing.

I had the same problem with my Mercury tank.It's neoprene hose just like the hose with the primer bulb.I took the hose off the primer at the tank side and cut about eight inches off,put the filter on it ,stuck it in the tank and it's been working for five years now with no problems.My fuel line was (is) long enough that I still have plenty to reach the tank.

Tank is a totally different material than the pickup tube.

I thought about the hose idea after posting. Glad to know it works. I will try that.
