mariner to evinrude wiring

I am replacing a 86 2oohp mariner with a 90 200hp evinrude can i cut the mariner plug on the harness and splice a evinrude if so does anyone know which color wires match up. Thank you

I would get an Evinrude harness, but that's just me.

I did not think the controls would work, unless they were some sort of universal aftermarket controls.
