Mariner/yamaha carb shooting gas out jet

This Mariner 9.9E (Yamaha) carburator is shooting gas out the brass jet on the top half. Why is that and what can I do about it? Float too high? Thanks. Bob

you can fix/replace the needle/seat assy. some do not have removable seats. on the non-remoivable seats use a qtip soked in carb cleaner to clean the seat. then chek that the float is not damaged and set to the correct specifications and the ful system is clean. doesnt take much debris to cause a leak.

Thanks for the reply. I reset the float level and will cleand the seat before I order a new seat.
