Motor is a restored 1956 Mark 55E. I heard about a water connection that slides on the anticavation plate and hooks to a garden hose. It puts water right at the intake on the 40 and 44 cubic inch Mercury models. This is so that a person can run the engine out of water without damage to the water pump. Do you have such a thing that I could purchase? Thanks

By the way, I wasn't asking anyone on this forum If I could purchase a flushing device (though I probably would if offered) I copied the above posting from an e-mail that I sent to mastertech and to save time typing I pasted it here and forgot to modify it.

Sounds like your looking for earmuffs. I just bought a set at our boat store. 8.99 is all the set I bought cost. I am sure they fit most motors. Hope this helps!! Brad, Trish and kids ;)

Brad, I thought about muffs, but the water intake is above and behind the prop facing down to the ground/water. I don't see how a muff could be put on, unless there is something special for this?
