I have a 1985 Mark Twain Escape 210 (21') Cuddy Cabin I got from my brother for the cost of 4 tire to make a safe trip to SC from CT. I'm trying to find some info on the boat but there isn't too much out there! It needs some love and care but the price was right for my first big boat!! If any one knows where I can find some specs on my Mark Twain please let me know. Thanks.

Re: Mark Twain Info

Hi. I'm a fellow Mark Twain boat owner - mine's a 1985 19' open bow with V8 200 hp Mercruiser I/O.

Here's a link to a Mark twain boat owners web site. You may want to ask over there also.

Also, some of the pricing guides give basic model info. I'm not sure what good the "specs" are though. Maybe the weight might be of interest.

For what it's worth, here what I found out about MTB in general. They made a pretty high quality boat, solid and rather heavy. The deep-V hull should handle the chop very well. It is not a "fast" hull .... more for ride quality than speed. Production ended somewhere in the early 1990's. I think they were made somewhere in Illinois.

Of course, the condition of your "new" boat will depend more on how it was cared for than how it was made. the good news is the MT boats are worth fixing up if need be (to a point, depends what needs fixing).

Re: Mark Twain Info

Thanks for the info. The "new boat" was cared for well, the years have taken it's toll on the vinyl and some of the plywood but it's all minor fixes. The engine has less than 400 hours on it. The foot is cracked from a New England freeze but the gears are good only need a new gear case. The hullis unmarked! Really good shape. I can't wait to get it water ready!!
