Jumping, flying, dancing, etc. is all normal behavior when hooked. That is why they are such a great sport fish. We've had more than a couple "charge" the boat over the years.

just got back from the Keys, 35lb Wahoo was hooked up, about 20' from the boat when a big blue marlin took a swipe at it's tail.....
