Hi everyone. Has anyone heard of Marlon Boats and any info on them? They are produced in China which concerns me but they actually appear to be quite well made and the weld seams seem to be good and well done. I was looking at their 14 foot welded utility boat. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not into riveted boats and I want to avoid wood in the transom so that's why I'm looking at fully welded boats.

14' Starcrafts rarely have rivet issues no matter what decade they were built in. Gluvit and other leaky rivet repair methods are ultra easy on a boat that size. The wood in the transom is not much more than a 2x8 xwidth of transom. How hard can that be. Buy a Chinese boat and or a motor ,just don't come on here later on beefing that it's junk, stuck in customs, can't register it,can't find parts , won't pass USCG requirement and the resale value is what scrap is currently fetching. Try searching Chinese boats on here then report back.. Or buy a fully welded boat,MADE IN THE USA,used if need be.

First of all I am not living in the U.S. I'm in Canada and Marlon boats can easily be bought throughout Canada and the U.S. and they do pass all regulations. I'm also looking at a custom welded boat that is made locally here in Canada and is a top notch boat (Silverstreak) and (Lifetimer) to name a few. I did not say I was buying a Marlon boat just that I was looking for more info on them in case someone has one and can give me feedback.

How are we supposed to know where you live ? Obviously no one on here has bought this Chinese boat or they would of replied. You can be the first one to give us a product review. So please don't spend your money on a boat built in your country, buy a over seas model and help there economy. Good luck dude.

How am I supposed to know if somebody has bought a Marlon or not until I ask?? I do try to support local economy when I can and I do but I'm looking at all options, is there something wrong with that? Obviously this forum is not very supportive or helpful but rather the opposite

You asked and no one replied....Nothing wrong with options,,,and we/ I gave you one, based on what I have read on here about Chinese boats and no name motors.... By telling you not to buy a piece of **** I would put that in the helpful, supportive genre. Now if you want to think that's being hard on you,go right ahead and ignore people that absolutely know what there talking about and buy your Marlon.its no skin off my nose.
