Is it possible to marry up an OMC 190 to a 220 outdrive? I'm guessing the bellhousings will be different if so what bellhousing will make the match.

welcome aboard.

while the 190 was usually a ford 302 with a 4 barrel

the 225 was a Buick V6 225 or it was a 307 GM V8 coupled to a high profile drive

this is where you have to be very specific with what you have and what you want to do with 40 and 50 year old Obsolete parts

The Buick V6 drive ratio was the same as the 120 Chevy something around 2.0 ; 1. The 225 HP Chevy was around 1.6 :1 and were all high profile. There is 4” difference in the drive height. The inline 6 Chevy - the Ford 190 shared the same ratio and were all low profile and I believe were between the previous mentioned ratios. You are going to have to connect a battery to the drive and turn it by hand to see what the overall ratio is or take the upper apart and count the teeth. All electric lowers are the same ratio.
