Hi All, Was looking for information for a general service on a mastercraft 5.7 merc. oil/filter change how easy are the plugs to get to etc. also need info on how to antifreeze it up for the winter and any other points i should note. I am hoping to purchase one for next season, I currently have a dateline bounty with a 4.3 merc alpha 1, and can service and winterise it myself OK. obviously with the fuel hike and marina charges (which are a pure rip off) I quite enjoying doing the work myself and getting to know my engine.

That is all going to depend on the access the manfacturer gives you and it will change year to year and model to model.
Best way to find out is LOOK before you buy. If you can't access a maintenance item, I would walk away from the boat or figure out how to make access to those items BEFORE buying.
