Match Merc transom bolt pattern w/ Johnson

I am considering swapping out a Merc. 50 for a Johnson 90. Will the transom bolt patterns match? They don't look like they do but I say one post saying they will match. Thanks

Welcome aboard Augie.

Some will match, some won't, depends on the years. Mercs from the mid 80's and newer, should match Johnsons from mid 70's and newer.

Measure the spacing of the 4 mounting holes.

OK, thanks for the feedback. I've "marked" a template against the Johnson and compared it to a schematic of what should be an appropriate Merc bolt pattern. Looks close.... will pursue and let you know what I find out. Again, thanks..... any other suggestions from others?? Thanks
