Max Hp????

Yes Hi, I wanted to know if i could fit a 70hp or 60hp on my 14ft boat? It is fiberglass and when i bought it,it didn't have a plate on it saying the max hp and or maximum people. What is the tops i could put on this boat? I am looking for speed i currently have a 30hp on there right now.

All you have given us is that you have a 14 foot boat. It might be of help to know if this was a V-hull, flat bottom, a barge, aluminum, fiberglass, tiller steer, or ?????? I'm guessing that more than doubling the HP from what you have now is definitely too much power. But then -----------------

Did you get a title or registration that states what make and year it is. Step one is as Silvertip said finding out what you are trying to repower.I have seen 14' boats with 100's on them and 14'ers with there max rating of 20hp on them.

the max hp rating calculations are in the restoration section.
there is a sticky at the top with the link.

it will tell you how to figgure out the max hp for your hull.
