Any clues to what a 3 cyl 35 hp with a 4 bladed prop, pushing a 12 foot speedboat is capable of? I am dying to try my rig out, but still 2 more months of winter weather left!

Just curious, thats all.

My guess would be 60mph, but not with me in it! To fast for this old man!

Boat load/design and prop pitch will be factors. If you don't have enough pitch for a light load, you'll max out the recommended RPM's before you get to the max speed your boat/motor/load could achieve.. Too much pitch and you'll not get to max RPM's or max hp.. If it's a light load with correct prop, 40+ should be a given..

I agree with oldcatamount. that's a lot of motor on a little boat. you should easily break 40 and then some. I used to run a 33hp on a 14' skiff and it was too much for me. remember, water feels like concrete when you hit it at high speed. don't go faster than you want to wreck. be careful out there. good luck.
