Max RPM 5000

2005 F150: Wide open throtle i am only turning 5000 RPM.....i should be turning 5500.....prop is 14 x 14 1/2....what size would you recomend going to....is it putting a strain on the motor using it like this? thank you

something sounds wrong. can't imagine you going any lower in pitch. are you sure on that size? and is there anything else you can provide? anything wrong with the boat?

I have a F115 Yamaha (4 stroke). I realized 5000 RPM w/13X19 Pitch prop. that came w/new boat that only gave me 30MPH. By switching to a 13X17 pitch prop. I get 5400 RPM and 34.4MPH. I am still going to try various other props to try and increase efficiency. The Yam RPM rating is 5000-6000.
