hi people,just got a brand mew maxim boat and after one season the motor is making valve noise. i have also found a pile of nuts and bolts in its bilge area along with loose hose clamps and clips, is this common for maxium/bayliners and or mercurisers? ps trading boat in for a 2 stroke:redface:

Oh my!! Hows the the level of the engine oil? Low oil can cause valves to clatter. I would be heading it back to the dealer and would be pretty pissed off if I bought a new boat and this was going on. Nuts ond bolts in the bilge, what the heck! You can tighten the clamps, After the motor heats and cools over time the rubber shrinks.
