ok, kick me all you want....

im trading my 1991 johnson 225v6 for a complete 1990 bayliner 17' cuddy cabin with a 1990 force 90hp.

heres my question, the bayliner needs a new shifter/throttle, it mounts to the side wall of the boat. is this model a mercury made item or was this still when they were us marine?

when i look around for shifters...what brand should i be looking for. the one from the boat is completley missing, but the cables are still there, they are morse red jacket cables.

I believe you should be looking for a Quicksilver Commander 2000 or 3000.

This was the first transition motor that Merc made out of the 85hp US Marine.
Some upgrades, but more substantial improvements were made over the next 4 years.

Answer the question you %^&*#$ tards.

You can use just about any throttle. all you have to do is get the cables hooked up correctly.

Stay on topic or bash in your own thread.

Heres what I bought from iBoats.

Uflex controls work very well and are easy to install.

Its not rocket science.

Now you bashers can troll another forum.

Wish I'd have known you thought the V6 was only worth $500. I'd have given you that much cash...

Re: may the force be with me.....

Dhadley, I got a couple old blown V6 motors out back if your interested, some flat back 175,a bubble bacl big bore 175 an mid 80´s 225 and an early 90´s 225 that lunched the bottom bearing. I know it lunched it cause it broke the block.
now on to the force issue.
I cant remember what the cable stroke is for shift but its critical. make sure your shifter cn be adjusted to the correct stroke and direction. after that most any will work that use the 33C type universal cables at the engine end. any standard 6 terminal keyswitch will work with the electrical system. forcectually made a decent product, ign problems not withstanding, however most got neglected to death.

actually, if you check the nada values or the local sales papers or boattrader.com, youll see that 1992 17' bayliner cuddys are selling in the 4K - 6K range, depending on condition and options.

yes i know this, this will be my 8th boat that i currently own, along with 13 outboards. ive always strayed away from force and bayliner, but i cant use the V6 anytime soon, and figured " what the heck, lets have fun"

i need to rebuild the entire transom on my big boat, so in the meantime, the v6 is getting used by somebody else.

thanks for the bashing and not answering my questions though, 'preciate it !
