Need immediate attention. Re: Volvo Penta engine noise (Now worse and with milky oil)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1996 5.7 Vovo Penta Gi new impellor and pump.

Okay. Now the bad news. The oil is milky, a sign of water in engine. Ouch!
Engine starts and runs fairly well though a bit rough at idle. Yes it got way too hot and now I have to pay the fiddler. What do you think it might be?

Can I run it like this?
For how long?
Know any good marine mechanics in the Pittsburgh, PA area?
Please help.
Thanks.

Re: MayDay

Probably a damaged head gasket and/or the head itself.

Can't give ya any more help without knowing what ya got and year. Not boat info just engine and drive.

I did read that link. Today I took the boat to a real marine mechanic. He tested the compression and said all but two had decent compression. The two that didn't had about 50 each. So now what? Any ideas?

Re: MayDay

That pretty much spells out blown head gasket..... Time for some new ones (do both)

Re: MayDay

I think if I were to pull the heads I'd have em checked at a machine shop as well for warpage from the heat.

Good luck
