Have a 1976 Mercruiser 120 with a Mercruiser one outdrive. Have been working on electrical issues the last 2 months and am happy to say I'm down to the last one.

I am trying to get the trim gauge to work properly. I have searched this site and online for how to test or adjust the sending unit with no results for my outdrive. The sender wire at the gauge does range from 9-11 volts, but they are erratic through the trim range. Is it possible to adjust the sending unit, or could there be another solution.

The trim gauge works the same for the older like yours to the newer ones. Only ones that are different are the digital ones, which yours is analog. If you have not replaced the sender (use Merc) then that is the issue. The variable resistor contacts get corroded and just need to be replaced.
