Hey guys. I seem to have a mismatched cap and rotor. Engine has about 20 hours on it and started misfiring at low rpms. Digginig into it I found what I think is the rotor is not a match for the cap. You can see from the picture the rotor is just grazing the contacts on the cap.
I have the pertronics kit installed and my question is.. if I buy a new cap and rotor kit, should it be the same as the stock kit with points and condenser. I can't imagine that it would be different.

Thanks!20220829_160635.jpg

Is there excessive movement with the rotor shaft? A worn upper bushing will allow the rotor to not stay centered.

Well, something isn’t right. The rotor shouldn’t be that high to rub there. Look inside the old rotor, is there a chunk of plastic stuck up the there? Looks like it wasn’t seated all the way. Some go on rather tight.

Yep. Looks like a piece of plastic from the casting. I threw a new rotor on.
Thanks

I'll check the adjustment on the Petronixs and button it up. Hopefully that was it!

Thank you
