I was fishing with two buddies on Sunday in the fog. We watched a guy heading southerly in the ICW run up on a sandbar. An aquaintance pulled them off the bar. As I was readying to move to begin a new drift, my boat turned around. When I started up, I had lost my bearings and headed in the wrong direction right toward the bar. I noticed the water flatness just in time to avoid grounding. Got the boat turned around and we went fishing again. My face was red if you could see through the fog.

Re: Me? Run Aground?

Went on a houseboat trip with several friends, which included other house boats 10+, over 100 people. Well one older guy was trying to impress this young chick and he let her drive his borand new fish and ski, with 150 Merc outboard. They were gone for several minutes when, she returned to our boat crying and asked if we could help him get his boat "un-stuck". We figured he ran a little too far on shore and needed a little push to get the boat off the shoreline. In fact the girl was driving, yes she had been drinking, and drove this boat full throtle 15 feet on to the beach. We went to help and could not help but laugh seeing this boat practically in the trees. It took 20 guys nearly an hour the next day to get the boat in the water again. It started with a turn of the key, and drove away, no one hurt except the scratched hull.
