1957 Sea King 25HP (same as Big Twin), powering a 15' fiberglass fishing boat.

I'm trying to get the motor propped correctly (engine is lugging) and I would like to know how to measure the prop pitch. There are no identifying marks left on my current prop.

Thanks!

AJY

Re: Measuring prop pitch.

Pitch is measured with a pitch gauge. If your motor is lugging truely due to pitch, and the prop is in decent shape, take the prop to your nearest prop shop and have them drop the pitch a couple of inches. Cost is minimal.

Thanks for the reply!

I'm stopping to see my parts guy this evening, I'll see if he can put me onto a local prop shop.
