I have a 4 cylinder 470 merc and the tach is reading low. I looked at the back and it has four settings 1-2-3-4. It is currently set on 3. Does anyone know the correct setting? I guess if not I will try each one next time out.
It will not hurt anything if you change the setting. But since you have a 4-cylinder engine, the "3" setting would not seem to be correct (hence the low reading) whereas "4" would.
