melting coils??

anyone ever heard of the backs of coils (side against the cylinder head) melting? when i replaced mine 2 on each side were looking like the plastic dip was starting to melt and dripping down the cylunder. engine 150 gt johnson

I know that on older motors, it was a sign that they were ready to die. Good thing you are replacing them....
