Mer 50 4 stroke overheating issue

Hi, I have a 2000 50 hp merc. 4 stroke. The engine alam ,constant beep went off a trolling speed. Next week alarm goes off at high speed. Checked impellor, new last May 05. New thermostat, checked exhaust cover and water jacket, clean as a can be. checked hot alarm sensor as per manualTook it out again, same thing alarm goes off. back home again. I pull powerhead gaskets are all fine, put it back together. I am really stumped. Please any ideas. Could it be the engine temp sensor? Pat :|
