Mer alph 1 Drive Bellows replacement

I wanted to know how often does the bellows rubber seals need to be replaced on a 1999 mer alph1 drive . My boat was grounded and the lower end was removed for repair the skeg that snapped off . I was thinking I should replace the bellows since the boat is 14 yrs old. Is there other things I should have them look at this time since the lower end is off . . Thank's for the input JJB
