Merc 110 Rebuild questions...

I am planning on rebuilding my 110 merc. After some research I have found that the 110, 120, 135 and 140 are all the same block (2.5L 153cu) So my question is, can I get a 120 and swap parts back and forth between the two? Also what would be involved in upgrading to the 140hp? Which compnents need to be swapped out?

Last, for which ever block I rebuild I want to have the machine shop bore it over for a little extra power, are there any problems with doing this??

I know that the 120 & 140 have different bore and stroke.So the rods and pistons are different and the block is drilled bigger for those pistons.

Ayuh,....

The 110hp,+ the 120hp Might be the same, but the 135hp,+ the 140hp are Not the same blocks....

Btw,....
An Overbore doesn't really increase the HP,....
