merc 115 slips/knocks into forward/reverse?

My merc 115 makes a quick but noticiable clink clink clink when it shifts into forward or reverse.....
Any info on if this is a bottom leg issue or can this be corrected with shift linkage?
Could it be how i installed the new prop maybe?

Maybe yes maybe No. When shifting from neutral to foward/reverse, you shift it quickly. Do not ease it into gear. Try that first. If you baby it into gear you will hear that clicking.

It will shift quick but it still sounds like its hurting something..... Just wondering if its normal?

Unfortunately alot of times it is normal. As long as you get a distinct "clunk" and no ratcheting, you should be fine.
