Merc 1150 Still no spark

I have still no spark after replacing a new switchbox on my 78 merc 1150.
I have replaced the coil, ignition switch, all the bad wiring. The motor started up the first time I tryed this year, then next time I had no spark.The only thing Im questioning now is the dist. cap and rotor. Any suggestons what I might try next?

You need to test the system not through parts at it, to test for a problem in the cap or a shorted rotor just remove the high tension lead from the coil and hook a spark gap to the coil if you have spark then the trouble is in the dist cap or rotor if not you need to test the system.
