Merc 115hp water pump

I have about 6h of time on my 76 merc 115 since replacement of water pump two years ago.
Last year, it peed out the tell tale like a champ.
This year, I put the muffs on in the yard and no pee.

I suspect that there is a piece of something clogging the line - not the failure of the pump.

Is there an easy way for me to deal with this before taking the bottom end apart to inspect the water pump? I tried to put a wire down the tube, but there is a right angle turn that precludes further exploration.

Sure, Remove the wrap cowl, and pull the telltale off the elbow fitting on the block. Blow into the telltale hose to clear it out. Start the motor on muffs, and see the water pour out the elbow.
