I bought a boat last week the dealer ran it for me for about 30 minutes with the cuffs. I asked them to re-winterize it so i could pull it home, it was previously winterized before they fired it up so all they did was drain the block and said it would be fine since there was only so much winter left.. Am i in trouble since they didn't fog again or dump antifreeze through it? I'M sure the outdrive had plenty of time to drain it was above freezing several days after i got it,

Engine started shifted and ran nice and quite though, engine didn't even shake (some vib in the floor, but it's an I4.). I'm thinking it's been well taken care of and these guys have been winterizing for the po for 10 years.

Got a question my boat was winterized to and then I ran for 5 mins. So I took to this guy who worked on boats all his life showed me how.. He took an air compressor and blew out the water jackets and everything that had water in, then he pumped antifreeze in it and that was it. Its a 3.7 mercrusier with its own cooling system does this sound right I hope????

tjf - your probably fine, but not knowing what he opened before blowing air through it, no way to really tell right now. With a fresh water cooling system, fortunately your engine should be fine - your risk is basically limited to the heat exchanger and exhaust. Both of which are easy to drain, if he bothered to open them prior to the compressed air.

Thanks for the reply, he did take I believe two hoses off and it was empty when he put in the antifreeze. He seemed like he knew what he was doing but it was one of those deals where he did not charge a whole lot but he did take the time to show me which I was grateful.. Thank you again for your input very nice of you..Todd
