I have a 2001 Bass Tracker w/120hp Sport Jet. I just took ownership and it's been sitting for 10 years. I'm trying to find where the water pump is as I'm sure the impeller needs replacement. Any recommendation towards maintenance I'm all ears.
Thanks
Chris

Wow, thank you so much. I've been reading that it's not a good idea to start her on land. Do you recommend not to do so, not even to see if she fires?
Thanks,
C

You can start on land, but if it starts, don't run it for more than 30-60 seconds. The manual I linked to has a section on flushing and that can be used to for cooling to run it longer.

Also look for the proper idle RPM in a manual.----Some of these need to idle at a higher RPM for the jet pump to provide cooling water pressure.

Just on the above comment...you usually need to set the idle speed on the water and whilst moving.
If you aren’t familiar with jet powered boats or skis, just as important as the health of the engine is the condition and clearance of the impeller and wear ring. Even a mm or 2 clearance and you ain’t going anywhere fast.
