merc 135 i/o fuel pump 2007

was told to change fuel pump filter and carb filter every year.is this true and if so is it prity simple? im a little mech inclined. thanks

Couldn't hurt. But I would suggest you install a water seperating fuell filter kit between the tank and the engine. Then you shouldn't have to worry about the carb and fuel pump filter. Just change the spin on filter yearly.
